Planning Your Visit
Faculty, students and staff at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music encourage you to visit. Prospective students find that classroom and rehearsal visits, in addition to attending one of our performances provides an exciting glimpse into the musical life and demands of the Conservatory. Visit our Calendar for upcoming performances.

You are welcome to attend classes and rehearsals during the day of your audition or any day school is in session. A list of classes and rehearsals is available through the Admission Office.

Interviews
While interviews are not required as part of the admission process, you are welcome to contact the Office of Admission if you would like to schedule an interview or discuss Conservatory programs with an admission officer. Please try to give us 2 weeks notice before your visit.

Tours
Although tours are generally available on a drop-in basis, Monday through Friday, 10 am to 4 pm throughout the year, the Office of Admission HIGHLY RECOMMENDS that you contact us in advance to schedule a specific tour appointment. The school is closed the week between Christmas and New Year's.

Tours for large groups are available through the Office of Admission and must be scheduled at least one month in advance.

For a Virtual Tour of our sparkling new facility, please click here.

Lessons
Nearly all Conservatory faculty are available by advance appointment for a private lesson, schedule permitting. Students may either be put in contact with faculty through the Office of Admission or may contact them on their own using email addresses provided at the bottom of faculty biographies, found here. Members of voice faculty charge $100 per hour per consultative lesson. Members of the faculty in other areas will advise applicants of any lesson fees on a case-by-case basis.

Events
Most concerts and master classes at the Conservatory are free and open to the public, but some do require an advance ticket purchase. Please check the Calendar of Events prior to making your travel arrangements.
